STEPS Middle and High School Literacy
Facilitator Course

This ‘train the trainer’ course is the most cost effective way for schools or districts to deliver their own STEPS Middle and High School Literacy courses to a large number of teachers. Facilitators attending this comprehensive six-day course are provided with intensive training and support materials that will help them provide high quality professional development and ongoing support for other teachers.

As an ELA instructor in a career and technical school, I have used many of the STEPS activities in my classes to support reading.  These activities have helped me focus on good lesson planning with before, during and after reading components, and as a result, my students have become more involved in the reading process.  Effective reading skills are necessary for all students to succeed in the workplace, post-secondary schools, and in life.        Gina Dietrich, Academic Support Instructor
